[1981-1995]

1981
The 4th International Congress of Biorheology was held at Jikei University School of medicine in Tokyo, Japan, July 27 - Aug. 1, 1981, and Alex Silberberg became the sixth awardee of the Poiseuille Gold Medal. Satellite Meeting of the International Congressof Biorheology, was held in Osaka, Japan, Aug. 3, entitled "Hemorheological Approaches to Cardiovascular Diseases". The 2nd European Conference on Clinical Hemorheology was held in London, England, Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, 1981, under the responsibility of Prof. John Dormandy, and Shu Chien became the first recepient of the Robin Fáhræus Medal Award.

1983
The 5th International Congress of Biorheology was held in Baden-Baden, F.R. Germany, Aug. 20-24, 1983, and Hellmut Hartert became the seventh awardee of the Poiseuille Gold Medal. A satellite meeting entitled "International Symposium on New Methods in Biorheology" was held on August 17-18 at Nancy, France. The 3rd European Conference on Clinical Hemorheology was held in Baden-Baden, Aug. 24-17, 1983, taking place at the same site of the 5th ICB, and John A. Dormandy became the second awardee of the Robin Fáhræus Medal Award.

1985

The fourth European Conferenceon Clinical Hemorheology was held in Siena, Italy, June 20-22, 1985, and Holger Schmid-Schönbein became the third awardee of the Robin Fáhræus Medal .

1986
The 6th International Congress of Biorheology was held at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C., Canada, July 27 - Aug. 1, 1986, and Yuan-Cheng (Bert) Fung became the 8th recepient of the Poiseuille Gold Medal. North American Society of Biorheology (NASB) was founded during the 6th International Congress of Biorheology.

1987
The 5th European Conference on Clinical Hemorheology was held in Bordeaux, France, June 29 - July 1, 1987, as the Chairmen of the Conference are Professors J. Viovin and J.F. Stoltz became the fourth recepient of the Robin Fáhræus Medal Award.

1989
The 6th European Conference on Clinical Hemorheology was held in Frankfurt am Main, F.R. Germany, June 15-17, 1989, and Tullio Di Perri became the fifth recepient of Robin Fáhræus Medal Award.

The 7th International Congress on biorheology was held at 'Palais des Congres', Nancy, France, June 18-23, 1989, and Richard Skalak became the ninth recepient of the Poiseuille Gold Medal Award.

1991
The 7th European Conference on Clinical Hemorheology was held in Southampton, United Kingdom, July 16-19, 1991, and John Stuart became the sixth awardee of the Robin Fáhræus Medal Award.

1992
The 8th International Congress of Biorheology was held at Pacifico Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, Aug. 3-8, 1992, and Harry Leonard Goldsmith became the tenth recipient of the Poiseuille Gold Medal Award.

1993
The 8th European and the 1st International Conference on Clinical Hemorheology is to be held in Vienna, Austria, July 5-8, 1993.

1995
The 9th International Congress of Biorheology was held in Big Sky, Montana, U.S.A.. Fukada being honored as Poiseuille Gold Medalist. It marks the first joint meeting with the International Society for Clinical Hemorheology.
