The first International Congress of Biorheology was held at Palais des
Congrésin Lyon, France, Sept. 4-8, 1972 and Alfred L. Copley became
the third awardee of the Poiseuille Gold Medal. The third International
Conference on Hemorheology was the first International Congress of Biorheology,
held together with the 6th International Congress on Rheology.

The scientific program at the 14th
International Congress, July 4-7, 2012, was augmented with tours to
the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar as well as a
cruise.
Koç
University offered facilities for Congress meetings, sessions and

From July 9th to 13th in
2008, the Conference Center at Penn State University served as the
venue for the 13th International Congress of Biorheology. The
Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts was a highlight fo the social
program. Herb Meiselman received the Poiseuille Gold Medal.

The Adora Resort on the Mediterranean
Coast of Antalya, Turkey was the site of the 11th International
Congress of Biorheolgy-4th International Conference of Clinical
Hemorheology during September 22-26, 2002. The Society honored

Biorheology was held at Pecs, Hungary, July 18-22, 1999 in conjunction
with the 3rd International Conference of Clinical Hemorheology.
Giles R. Cokelet received the twelfth Poiseuille Gold Medal Award.

took place July 23-28, 1995 at Big Sky, Montana, U.S.A. Eiichi
Fukada became the eleventh recipient of the Poiseuille Gold Medal.
The Congress was held for the first time jointly with the International
Conference of Clinical Hemorheology.

was held at Pacifico Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, Aug.
3-8, 1992, and Harry Leonard Goldsmith became the tenth recipient

was held at 'Palais des Congres', Nancy, France, June 18-23, 1989,
and Richard Skalak became the ninth recepient of the Poiseuille
Gold Medal Award.

was held at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C.,
Canada, July 27 - Aug. 1, 1986, and Yuan-Cheng (Bert) Fung became
the 8th recepient of the Poiseuille Gold Medal. North American
Society of Biorheology (NASB) was founded during the 6th International
Congress of Biorheology.

The 5th International Congress of Biorheology
was held in Baden-Baden, F.R. Germany, Aug. 20-24, 1983, and Hellmut
Hartert became the seventh awardee of the Poiseuille Gold Medal.
A satellite meeting entitled "International Symposium on New
Methods in Biorheology" was held on August 17-18 at Nancy,
France.

The 4th International Congress of Biorheology
was held at Jikei University School of medicine in Tokyo, Japan,
July 27 - Aug. 1, 1981, and Alex Silberberg became the sixth awardee
of the Poiseuille Gold Medal. A satellite meeting of the International
Congress of Biorheology, was held in Osaka, Japan, Aug. 3, entitled "Hemorheological
Approaches to Cardiovascular Diseases".

Biorheology was held at University of California, San Deigo, La
Jolla, U.S.A., Joly became the fifth recepient of the Poiseuille
Gold Medal.

The 2nd International Congress of Biorheology
was held at the Weismann Institute of Science in Rehovet, Israel,
Dec. 29, 1974 - January 7, 1975 and Syoten Oka became the fourth
awardee of the Poiseuille Gold Medal.
