AcademicsThe College of Engineering is organized into six schools with all of the undergraduate programs accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). Each school also offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The School of Petroleum Engineering is housed in College of Earth and Energy. The newly constructed ExxonMobil Lawrence G. Rawl Engineering Practice Facility is one of a kind in the nation dedicated to providing hands-on experiences to undergraduate engineering students. There are more than 40 engineering student organizations giving students opportunities to cultivate their learning experiences with extracurricular activities. Deans Leadership Council consists of a select group of engineering students mentoring incoming freshmen, providing tutoring assistance for engineering students, and serving as recruiters for the college. Williams Student Services Center (WSSC) is the central contact center for needs of the engineering students. WSSC is home for Engineering Student Advising, Diversity and Multicultural Engineering Programs, Scholarships, Student Leadership, and Corporate Relations. All undergraduate students with majors in the College of Engineering are expected to have a laptop computer throughout their curricula.
