GAANN
FELLOWSHIPS IN BIOENGINEERING
Bioengineering
at The University of Oklahoma is pleased to offer doctoral fellowships
in conjunction with a Graduate
Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) grant titled
"Promoting Versatility in Doctoral Bioengineering Education"
from the U. S. Department of Education. This unique program
offers comprehensive educational experience that will provide a
background suitable for an academic or industrial career in
bioengineering. Fellows will receive "hands-on"
instruction on how to teach at the college/university level and on how
to function in the corporate environment. A notable feature is
working part-time at a company in Oklahoma's emerging biotechnology
industry. Individuals must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents,
have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above for the last 60 hours, and a
degree in engineering or a field closely related to bioengineering in
order to qualify. Students with strong academic backgrounds and a
desire to excel are encouraged to apply. Applications from
individuals contributing to diversity are especially welcome.
